Port Takola Yacht Marina Expansion – Phase Two
Port Takola Yacht Marina in Krabi, located east of Phuket, is moving forward with its second-phase expansion. This includes the addition of 80 new wet berths and the development of The Capitainerie, a key administrative building for the marina
Expansion of 80 Wet Berths
The second phase of expansion will introduce 80 additional wet berths, catering to yachts between 10 to 25 meters in length. These berths will be located along Piers B and C, enhancing the marina’s capacity to accommodate more vessels.
A significant addition in this phase is Pier L, a new public passenger pier that will enable ferry services to Krabi Town, which is only 800 meters across the river. This new connectivity option will provide better access to local amenities and transport links for boaters and visitors.
Port Takola’s expansion aligns with its long-term plan, as the Environmental Impact Assessment Committee (EIA) previously approved a 300-berth development strategy. The added berths will help meet increasing demand from yacht owners and charter operators looking for a homeport in Krabi, a key gateway to the Phi Phi Islands, Phang Nga Bay, and the Andaman Sea.
The Capitainerie
New Administrative Hub
Alongside the wet berth expansion, The Capitainerie will serve as an essential administrative facility for Port Takola. This single-storey building is currently under construction and will include:
- Marina Office for administrative operations
- Meeting Room for guests and marina-related activities
- Storage Facilities for yacht owners and operators
- 15-meter Swimming Pool for relaxation and recreation
The Capitainerie is designed to enhance the marina’s services, offering a functional yet welcoming space for visitors and long-term berth holders.
